When I decided to go even lower than 100 grams of carbs per day I had to choose a diet plan that would work well with my lifestyle. The most popular of the low carb diets are The Atkins Diet and The South Beach Diet. I have been researching these diets for some time now.
Both The Atkins diet and the South Beach diet have a 2 week phase in the beginning. Adkins calls this phase induction and South Beach Diet calls this 2 week period phase 1. This two week period is somewhat the same for both diets. Although on the South Beach Diet you do not count carb, while on the Atkins diet you are limited to 20 net carbs.
What I love about the Adkins diet is the fact that a major emphasis is placed on cutting out process foods and hydrogenated fats and oils, which have been proven to be very bad health-wise. Please watch the video to see my comparison.
