Keto Fried Okra- Low carb recipe

Okra is a vegetable you either love or love to hate. I happen to love the taste of okra, especially when its fried. Enjoy~

12 ounces of sliced okra

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon heavy cream

Salt

Black pepper

Keto Breading

1 cup protein powder (I use this one)

1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon Paprika

1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Dipping sauce

1/2 cups of mayo
1 tablespoons no sugar added ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcester sauce
2 teaspoon sambal oelek chili paste
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon golden lankanto sugar free sweetener

Whisk the eggs and combine with the heavy cream,  salt and pepper. Pour this egg mixture over the okra pieces and allow to sit for 5 minutes.

Mix all the ingredients for the keto breading. Add the mixture to a freezer bag, then combine with all the okra pieces. Shake the pieces to coat each piece evenly.

Fry the pieces for about 3-4 minutes. Remove and lay on a paper towel to absorb any extra oil. Sprinkle on some sea salt. Serve with dipping sauce.

Tip: Rinse the okra pieces first before cutting into pieces. The liquid that makes okra feel slimy comes out when you cut the okra. So rinse and pat dry or air dry before cutting.

Sorry I missed your message Lynn. This warms my heart to hear your family enjoyed them so much. They freeze well too, so you can have them whenever you desire. They are one of my favorite keto treats:)

This was soooo good!!! I have been searching for a low carb way to fry my fresh okra from the garden. My daughter is pre-diabetic and has a corn allergy. This is something all 3 of us LOVED!! Honestly made me think I was at the beach eating freshly fried shrimp. Blessings to you! I will no longer search for a recipe since I have found perfection!!
