Low Carb Shepherd’s Pie

by Jay on November 15, 2011

I love shepherd’s pie! It’s a true low carb comfort food.

For the cauliflower mash you can use this recipe minus the bacon of course- http://www.lowcarb360.com/cauliflower-mash-recipe.htm

Here are the ingredients for the meat

1 lb ground Beef
1 stalks of celery (diced)
1/2 of a carrot (diced)
1/2 large onions (chopped)
1 clove of garlic (minced)
1 serving of green peas
1/2 cups of chicken broth or beef broth
1 tablepoon Wostershire sauce
1 tablespoon of tomato paste

salt and pepper to taste
1-2 tablespoon butter

For the direction please see the video above.
Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes

I am still interested in the carb count for this shepherd’s pie recipe? I want to plan to make it but don’t want to until I know the amount of carbs in it.

I love Shepherd´s pie. never done it like you do, but I am going to give it a try by putting the cauliflower marsh on bottom and top.
I am sure going to enjoy it.
Thank you Jay for a great web site

I agree. For this reason I suggest using sites like “fit day” to calculate the carb count. Thanks for commenting.

This recipe does look great, but I think you should count the carbs linda because low carb can mean different amounts for different people. It can mean 0 carbs – 100 carbs, It’s all a matter of perspective.

Still a good looking meal!

Hi,
Looks GOOD!
I am someone that needs exact measurements but you don’t give any for the cauliflower mash.
Can you tell us what the measurements are for this recipe?
Thanks!

Hi Linda, i am working on adding the count up today. I did use very little of each, so the carb count will not be as high as one might imagine. I will post the count later on today : )

Lovely! But do you have a carb count? I was concerned because I saw carrots and peas, which are high-carb veggies, but I see that you don’t add very much of either, so I may be making this dish next weekend.
